| I finally mastered
the art of blending dark blue on this figure. It may seem easy, but the
darker the basecoat, the more difficult to get a lighter color to work
over the top of it and not seem "chalky". This was also my first
figure placed on a piece of rock - I'd seen the idea used in White Dwarf
before, but usually with grey-colored stone. I try to use more decorative
rocks instead, especially if they seem to match the mini.
The downside of using smooth rock like this, though, is the epoxy: for some reason 5-min epoxy doesn't like non-porous surfaces very much, so I had to hold the mini in place for 15 minutes (trying not to slide it back and forth on the slick surface), while the glue dried :^( |
